At admission please register at "Aufnahme". The best thing is to ask at the main entrance for directions. We can offer one parent (father or mother) to stay with their child either in a mother-child unit or in our parents-hotel inside the hospital. After the registration and a preliminary examination of your child you will be accompanied to the ward, located on the 3rd floor ("Beobachtung / Kardiologie").

What you should bring from home
Important items are: toilet articles, house shoes, a list of all current medications, "Mutter-Kind Pass", vaccination card and, if you want, clothes for the night. Please don’t forget the favorite toy or pet of your child!
Please bring only necessary items, as space inside the room is limited.
By train
Linz is located on the "Westbahn" between Vienna and Salzburg. You should get off the train at "Linz Hauptbahnhof", which is the main station.

There are taxis right in front of the station
If you want to use public transportation take the bus #45 to "Stiegelbauernstrasse". You have to get off the bus at "Krankenhausstrasse / Paula-Scherleitner-Weg".
By car
Linz can be reached by car via the "Westautobahn", Route A1
At the exit Linz (There is only one exit for Linz) follow route A7 (Prag-Freistadt-Linz) to the exit "Prinz-Eugenstrasse". Make a left turn (to center) and after 4 traffic lights (800m) a right turn into Khevenhüllerstrasse, make a right turn at the third traffic light. Now you are in "Krankenhausstrasse".
You will find the children’s Hospital straight ahead at the end of the street at #26 - 30. Parking is best in the garage of the hospital.

At the main entrance and close to the outpatient clinic you can find public telephones operated by coins or telephone cards.
Separate telephones in patient rooms are offered as well
Mobile phones are not permitted in the hospital area to ensure proper function of all medical equipment.
Daily visiting periods are
From 6 - 20 for parents
From 14 - 18 for all visitors
From 12 - 14 no visits should take place
Books can be borrowed there from patients or accompanying persons during their hospital stay free of charge
The library is located on the ground level at the chapel entrance
It is open: Monday - Thursday 7 - 8
Our mobile library visits the ward each Tuesday and Thursday.
Children’s radio
Fairy tails and stories are broadcasted each Tuesday at 18:00 via the hospital radio system. "Radio mit Herz" offers special children broadcasts daily from 15:15 to 17:45
Cliniclowns
Each Thursday afternoon the "Cliniclowns" make their rounds.
A pretty green garden is located on the hospital area. Whenever possible you should enjoy it, but please ask the doctor first, if there are no risks for your child!
